Straight Forward OEM Direct Sourcing Approach

OEM Supply Chain offers and efficient targeted Sourcing Solutions, based on hourly billing. Project Consultation is free. No hidden fees, commissions or “double dipping” into supply base hence avoiding any conflict of interest that could favor Commission over Quality. Long term contract not required. 2 week retainer of estimated hours sufficient for most projects. Client retains Supplier Lead Lists provided by OEM Supply Chain, Quotes and Supplier Contacts at Client’s discretion Regardless of OEM Supply Chain involvement, at any given time

Relationship Building Vendors

Relationship building can be facilitated with multi Lingual Consultants proficient in English, Spanish, Mandarin, and Thai. Site visits where budget allows are also encouraged for critical suppliers. Full traceability Sourcing available for Aerospace and Medical clients.

To Outsource (LCC) or In-Source?

LCC (Low Cost Country) Outsourcing is a strategy often engaged to realize aggressive cost savings, driving BOM costs down and / or refining technology expertise found overseas. Outsourcing is also key when proto / pilot builds transition large scale production. In – Sourcing can be prompted by shifts in policy affecting tariffs, adherence to government contracting where by designated proportion of Spend must be allocated to US based Suppliers. In Sourcing may also be strategically advisable after full landed costs analysis is considered. Time constraints may force heavy or large (Dimensional weight ) parts to ship via air, negating BOM costs savings initially

Risk Mitigation

Dual Sourcing, Supplier Agreements, Blanket PO Agreements, Site Visits, Process Walks, Supplier Vetting, Safety Stock Agreements. Often a $2 part can shut down a line for weeks reeking havoc on the Production Schedule. Simple steps can be taken to avoid avoidable shut downs and delays.

Tends to be Low Mix / High Volume Material focus on Resin, AL, SS. Supplier Location Focus on US & Mexico for heavy large parts, China, & Thailand for heavy large parts to offset shipping Time& Costs TS 16949 Compliant

Tends to be low Mix/ High Volume. FDA standards may apply. Electronic sections of assemblies likely to be sourced in Asia, though large bulky metal parts may be more suitable in Mexico or USA.

Alternative Energy

Alternative Energy tends to be Low Mix / Low & Med Volume – Material Focus on SS forgings and AL castings. Supplier Location Focus on USA & Mexico for Mechanical. Taiwan for Electronics if volume permits.
